Here is the World

This is my morning photo from my husband, untouched, and when I saw it, this quote came to mind.  At the end of the day, this is what I want my children to understand.  Beautiful–amazingly beautiful–things will happen in this world, but so will terrible things.  It’s not easy, but be not afraid.

A doe will pose at sunrise and a partner will think enough of you to take the photo because they know how much you will love waking to all of the glory the photo reveals.  The glory will always be revealed even as the terrible seemingly surrounds us. 

I hope I can show my small children this way, and I will start this morning with this photo.
